Hey! I’m Hannah
Hello! My name is Hannah Brown and I am a 25-year-old remote worker and avid traveler. I received my bachelor’s degree in Communicative Disorders from the University of Alabama in 2022 and my master’s degree in International Studies from Columbia University in 2023. I hope to eventually work for an international medical NGO in public health policy, but decided to take a year-long sabbatical to travel after finishing school. I found a remote job in data analytics, packed my bags, and headed off for a full year of solo travel by living in month-long Airbnb rentals in different countries around the world. I have since returned to Manhattan, but love the flexibility of my remote work and the ability to travel freely so much that I have yet to put my degrees to use ; )

Like the many, many Americans who do not own passports (which is roughly half of the country’s population), I never had one until I left North America for the first time halfway through my sophomore year of college in 2019. That trip solidified my desire to travel, but the subsequent onset of the COVID-19 pandemic delayed any opportunity I had to leave the country. So when I had the chance to au pair in Spain during the summer of 2021, I gladly took it and have since visited 45 other countries with about half of them being solo trips. I particularly love solo traveling and how independent it makes me feel, which is why I spent 2023-2024 without an apartment of my own and exploring as much as I could. Though I now have rent to pay in New York, I still travel as much as possible (translation – as much as my bank account allows) and update this blog along the way! Follow along!
